Nestle Blondies

Bear's Anecdote - Bear doesn't particularly care for sweets---He's a carnivore---but one time he was actually prowling for sweets and found this recipe. It is far less sickly sweet than other recipes, and is therefore pretty darn good! So, on those rare occasions when Bear bakes something, this is one of his favorites.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease 15x10 jellyroll pan.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl.
  4. Beat sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until creamy.
  5. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add flour mixture.
  7. Gently fold in chocolate morsels.
  8. Spread dough into jellyroll pan.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until top is golden brown.
  10. Cool on wire rack.

A note about blondie pans: Blondie recipes always do better when using VERY shiny aluminum blondies pans. Shiny aluminum blondie pans do not accept or transmit heat as well as oxidized ones. So, the bottoms of the blondies are a bit more protected from the direct heat of the oven burners. Dull, oxidized blondie pans will lead to blondies with burnt undersides. Bear has not had much luck with steel blondie pans, either.
